This is the life of the Olympic obsessive - after a full day at work, and a desperate attempt to catch up with all the action, I'm finally getting around to blogging...
Tried to combine gym and Olympics this evening - turned on the TV in the gym and got on the cross-trainer. The Terminator was there, working away on the other cross-trainer. Watched my way through the whole women's 10,000m until the last few laps. Finished my miles, then hung around to watch the end of the race. The Terminator also finished, and the 2 of us (silently) bonded over watching the race. Just over a lap to go, it's all tense, Brendan Foster is getting very over-excited, Steve Cram has run out of empathy for the moment (it's like he's been there!)... And the TV switches off. Gym is now closed. Good-bye.
Such is my life.
Apparently one of the women run, but I haven't managed to catch that on any of the hours of highlights I've watched yet... So much to see, so little time!
Loved Alan Campbell wining bronze in the rowing. You see how knackered he was at the end? That's me, that is, after any distance of running... Sort of...
;oD
