They say that you shouldn't go to the supermarket when hungry, but I sneer in the general direction of such advice. Shopping when hungry leads to all sorts of interesting foodstuffs being bought for trial, and that makes life that little bit more interesting...
That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!
Sadly, over the past week, I seem to have taken the end of the 5x50 challenge to heart, and have done little this week other than consume forbidden food and loaf about on the sofa... Which, let's face it, I enjoy far, far more than all the other stuff... There should be a limit in the amount of "bad for you" food that a body can consume in a week, but luckily a visit to the supermarket can provide one with a whole new supply of different (but equally bad) foodstuffs... Yum, yum, yum...
Still, it has to end, and end now... There's and appointment with a beach fast approaching, and I don't really need to increase my body mass for that - I can build up the standard winter-proofing blubber thereafter... Surely...
On the subject of supermarkets (no, really, this is interesting) I recently discovered that Scotmid ("the Co-op") and the Co-operative (erm, "the Co-op") are completely different shops. Apparently Scotmid use the Co-operative name (and branding and stock and offers) under license, but otherwise they are different companies... And a £2.50 voucher for Scotmid will not be accepted in the Co-operative.... Who knew?! I shall need to watch this in future... But it does explain why they keep opening shops within 5 minutes walk of each other. Fascinating stuff, eh? [WAKE UP!!]
Oh, and in exciting news, I was again lucky on the Lottery - a £2.70 win this time! Early retirement is a step or two closer... If only I wasn't spending more than that weekly buying tickets, all would be golden... Hey, ho...
:o)
Today's stats:
Holiday prep - lots of eating and TV-watching... Ooops!
